kōnā

About

Kona West Bridgford, the all-day cafe and tapas bar at 27 Tudor Square, opens at 9am Tuesday to Sunday and keeps about 40% of its tables for walk-ins. It closes at 10.30pm Tuesday to Thursday, 11.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 9.30pm on Sunday, with last food orders 90 minutes before closing. Its own site lists no Monday hours. The venue, styled kōnā, took over the corner unit that was Sexy Mamma Love Spaghetti, an Italian that opened in September 2023 and had been shut for several months before Kona was announced. It serves breakfast and lunch by day and a sharing menu of Asian and European dishes in the evening, with Japanese and Spanish influences; the Nottingham Post reported the menu would change regularly around five meat, five vegetable and five seafood plates. Coffee, wine, draught beer and cocktails are served throughout, and there is an outdoor terrace. It began a soft opening on 23 July 2026 and is run by the team behind Yumacha and Uchi, also in West Bridgford. Reserve through the booking page on konawestbridgford.co.uk, email bookings@konawestbridgford.co.uk or call or WhatsApp 07554 177388. The name is the Japanese loanword for 'corner'. The Food Standards Agency lists it as Kona, still awaiting its first hygiene inspection by Rushcliffe Borough Council as of 17 September 2026.
